tai chi concho

Tai Chi (taijiquan) is an ancient Chinese martial art of soft, flowing and sometimes slow movements.  Mind and body work together to channel vital energy.  The practitioner first learns to develop inner peace, harmony, and balance.  Eventually this inner harmony manifests outward in the person's life and relationships.

Tai Chi is an inner alchemy practice for health, wellness, and enhanced spiritual connection.  The other inner alchemy practices are acupuncture, acupressure, tui na massage, qigong stretching, mindful meditation, diet, and herbal medicine.

The oldest known practitioner of inner alchemy lived 5, 200 years.  Otzi, the iceman discovered in 1993 buried in ice in the Alps between Italy and Austria bore the familiar Yin Yang tattoos over his body.  In his medicine bag were acupuncture tools, antibiotic fungus, healing herbs,   grains, berries, and dried meat.  Long before the Pyramids of Egypt or Stonehenge on the Salisbury Plains of England, Otzi had been dead 1,000 years.  Yet his techniques are still practiced by Tai Chi practitioners today throughout the world.

Steve Haidinger, our Tai Chi teacher studied inner alchemy in China at Wudang Shan (Five Peaks Mountain) the birth place of Taijiquan.  He studied medical qigong at the Academy of Oriental Medicine in Austin Texas.  He is a senior student of Kung Fu Grand Master Jiang Jian Ye, of the Empire State Kung Fu Academy of New York.  He is professional member of the American Tai Chi and Qigong Association.  Steve is Taoist practitioner from the Pine Forest Sect in Hubei Provence, China.
